The Terrier

The Terrier, Oil 6"x6". I just got done painting another dog, that took a few days, I painted over and over, the photo wasn't great and I overworked, not getting the eyes right. In fact I did two painting and overworked both of them. Then I did this one in an hour or so.....I kept telling myself loose, loose, paint and leave alone., big strokes, thick paint. When I started to do the background I painted around the dog first before I filled in, but I liked the look of not filling in the background, made it look not so stiff. We will see what the owner thinks......SOLD and his name is Cal.
